Check out Amtrak , its usually cheaper to go by train.

check out southwest, priceline.com, cheaptickets.com, or check septa – bus, trains, etc
i am going to europe for 700 so you can do a lot better then 1k!!!!

Southwest is not the best airline but it doesn’t have any stops and it cheap if you bye the ticket in time but if you what a good airline I would recommend continental
