    You would need a U.S. passport book if you plan to book a flight; for land travel a passport card would suffice; you can’t travel on birth certificate and ID like it used to be any longer.

    You need a passport, to fly or a passport card or enhanced licence to drive or cross by land.

    May I respectfully point out that the passport complications were instituted by the USA. Canada has similar arrangements set up because of the USA change.
