Posted on 09. Mar, 2010 by admin in Canada travel
My mon and I are thinking to verify to activate (by plane) from the army to Canada (Montreal and maybe Toronto). My mom is attractive Sertranline. It is a generic for SSRI and it comes in tablets (not liquid).
This is the exclusive medication drung from her student that we module alter with us thru discover the trip.
If we are thinking to movement by plane, Are there anything that primary that we hit to do?
For example,
>> Do we hit to declair it?
>> Do we hit to intend a essay from her doctor?
>> Can we circularize it in the carry-on bag?
>> Any content that we should undergo most this?
Thank you.

There is nothing to declare. You don’t need a paper from the doctor (but I would get a written prescription just in case hers is lost). Yes, it is recommended to put all medications in your carry-on in case luggage is lost.

I ama diabetic and take 7 different medications, I was told by my travel agent to take the presription reciepts with you, for one thing they can trace the doctor and pharmacy to consult if needed and it is a legal document that is used for Income tax purposes when declaring it on you taxes.
Just take them with you, as you may not have an issue here, but coming back or going through customs in the U.S., so your not delayed.

Technically prescription medicines must just be in containers labeled with patient name and prescribing doctor. You need not declare it unless Canadian Customs specifically asks about any prescription drugs, which I have never been asked (the Americans ask sometimes, though).

when i travel i get a letter from my doctor stating the name of the medication and what it is for, carry it in a clear plastic bag in your hand luggage. You do not need to declare it just have it easily accessable for customs if they choose to check it
