1- You can use US money, it is worth more there.
2- Identification for everyone on board. Make sure everyone is quiet while you are crossing the boarder. They will search everywhere and would take hours. Just keep them quiet and it will take 2 minutes at the most.
3- Niagra Falls/Niagra-On-The-Lake
4- Niagra- Falls, Clifton Hills (search it!), and close to so many places. (Embassy Suites are MAZING! and worth every penny.) Niagra-On-The-Lake- Beautiful Small Hotels, Shaw Festival (would probably be boring if the teens don’t like sitting watching people act. born yesterday is a great teen show, though.) Small shops, not very great, though.

I’m not sure where around Canada you’re going to but if you stop by Vancouver in BC, here are some suggestions!
How much money:
-You should bring enough to keep you going through your road trip because you can always change money wherever you are
Need to bring:
-The obvious things: clothes, money, something to keep you guys amused during the trip, I’m guessing you need a passport but I’m not too sure about that
Good place to stay:
-I’m not sure what your budget is so I can’t really help you out! Sorry!
Some things to do:
-I’m from Vancouver so here are some tips if you stop by here:
-Robson street in Downtown Vancouver for some shopping (lots of shops and food there)
-Some shopping malls are: Richmond Center (big and a bunch of things for everyone), Oakridge Center (not that exciting but maybe some things you’ll find interesting there), Pacific Center (some bigger brand names and just a bit of everything. It’s pretty big too)
-Stanley Park for a nice walk in Downtown Vancouver
-Lots of places for you to go to! If you stop by Vancouver, feel free to message me if you have any specific questions! Vancouvers a great place!! (:
Hope your trip goes well!

On the money part.. Don’t take a load of cash. Take your ATM or Credit Card. They work just fine in Canadian ATM’s and you get the correct, current exchange rate with only the customary ATM fee. Otherwise you WILL lose on the exchange. Plus using Canadian currency makes you less likely to get “marked” as a “tourist” and saves having to figure out if you got the “correct change”. People say the U.S. dollar is “worth more” but in truth it isn’t, as prices are based on the Canadian dollar (which is a higher price). There is no advantage to using U.S. currency.
[added 5/25 1806 Edt. - For example, at today's exchange rate CDN$1 = US$0.889, If, with your ATM card you took out CDN$100 from an ATM with a CDN$2.00 ATM fee, your account would be debited US$90.68 plus any fee your bank charges. The exchange rate varies daily. Banks keep careful track of it. Most independent retailers cannot and do not.]
If you go to Montreal, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel is #1 in my book. Montreal is a roughly 6 hour drive. Once in the city you don’t need a car and there’s loads of things to do! Most all Montrealers do speak english although in Quebec; french is preferred. Enjoy!
Oh, Montreal’s underground city is shopping HEAVEN! Puts ANY mall to shame. And in bad weather offers a great way to get around the city without going outside. You couldn’t see the whole thing in a week! It’s THAT huge!
Remember, Canada uses the Metric measurement system, so a speed limit sign that says MAXIMUM 100 means the speed limit is 100Km/hr (about 62 mph). A temperature of 22°C is gorgeous! (a little over 70°F). Radar detectors are illegal in Quebec. Seatbelts are mandatory. Once on the Island of Montreal, don’t turn right on a red light or you’ll get a ticket. If you normally carry “pepper spray” DO NOT bring it as it is illegal in Canada.
Again, Enjoy!
