It should handle it as a US call. But you may have a problem calling back to the same line.

An alternate service is available at http://www.rebatetech.com – a calling card service that allows you to connect any 2 phones in the world from a PC or gives you a calling card#. You get cash back for using it off this site – with every purchase.

I use it all the time as a backup when I travel to Costa Rica, Mexico, and Germany. I just put in the two phone #’s that I want to connect and my phone rings and I pick up and wait to hear a ringing tone – then the other person answers.

    Good luck.

There is nothing that will prevent you from doing so on the technical side of things it is completely possible to use ANY softphone or ANY VoIP service anywhere you travel that has high speed internet..

there may be certain local laws that you need to follow governing the use of VoIP, the provider may not be licenced to operate a phone company, etc. from that location.

this may be a violation of TOS, or may be an unsupported feature…

While I was generalizing all VoIP and softphone services…
YES– YOU can use messenger from CAN to US
